Rashawn King to Join Recreation Resources Service as the Central West Region Recreation Consultant

Charlynne Smith, Director of Recreation Resources Service (RRS), is pleased to announce that Rashawn King will join our team as a Recreation Consultant serving the Central West region. Rashawn brings over five years of experience in municipal recreation to the role, having worked with the Town of Garner and the City of Raleigh. He has a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation management from NC Central University and recently earned his Master’s in Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Sport Management from NC State University.

King shared that “One of my ultimate goals in life was to be part of the Wolfpack family. I am very excited to be a part of the Recreation Resources Service team at NCSU. I am eager to help recreation departments in the Central West Region of North Carolina meet the needs of people in their community. Within this role I will make it my personal mission to assist.”

Smith said, “We are delighted for Rashawn to join RRS. He brings a high level of enthusiasm to his work, and his experience in youth and leadership development, athletic programming, facility and event management is a valuable addition to our team.” King will work out of the main RRS office at NC State University. “His first day is Monday, August 5th . Please join me in welcoming Rashawn to our team!”
