Innovative Park & Recreation Facilities Teleconference
New options for recreational facilities are expanding to incorporate creative play spaces and open up activity choices for previously under-served members of the community. Both large municipal areas and small rural towns are getting in on the act – and the creativity they are showing us is both inspirational and instructive. We’ve selected four great projects to feature from across North Carolina: Rocky Face Park in Alexander County; the Ninja Playground in the City of Graham; the Cashie River Treehouses in the Town of Windsor; and the multi-generational playground at Marion Diehl Park in Mecklenburg County. Each has taken a unique approach to bring play space to a broader range of participants and have become a source of pride for those responsible for creating them.
