Course Overview: Recreation Resources Service presents a webinar on connecting youth to outdoor recreation opportunities. Speakers will share expert knowledge and experiences about the value of outdoor recreation, the importance of diversity and equity in outdoor recreation, and barriers to participation by teens – especially kids of color. Attendees will be able to identify methods to connect with hard to reach audiences and describe solutions to reduce barriers in their community.

Learning Outcomes: Attendees will (1) recognize the value of outdoor recreation; (2) identify barriers to participating in outdoor recreation faced by kids of color, and outline solutions to reduce barriers; (3) describe methods to promote and market outdoor recreation programs; (4) summarize connections within their communities as potential partners.
