North Carolina Resources

Tourism Extension at NC State University

Tourism Extension works in partnership with communities and natural resource agencies to facilitate the development of nature-based tourism and outdoor recreation opportunities (e.g. the North Carolina Birding Trail). Tourism Extension works with County Cooperative Extension Agents to facilitate rural tourism development. If your community is currently working, or is considering working with its County Extension Office Tourism Extension can provide resources and assistance

Tourism Resource Assistance Center (TRAC)

The TRAC program is designed to help tourism related businesses engage more fully with programs offered by Visit North Carolina and its partners. This program is particularly helpful ff your community has a goal to draw visitors based on recreation and park assets.

North Carolina Association of Festivals and Events (NC F&E)

The NC F&E serves as a year-round forum for festival and event plannersĀ and volunteers. The organization can assist with facilitating information, sharing, training networking and identification of resources for festivals and events.
