1.1 CEUs
Recreation Resources Service, in partnership with the City of Mount Airy, is presenting a two day workshop on cemetery management, maintenance, planning and care. We have assembled a lineup of local and national experts in this niche field who will share their knowledge and experience about topics that include headstone maintenance, grounds maintenance, cultural programming, alternative burial practices, GIS, and laws pertaining to cemeteries. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in small group settings focusing on individual topics of interest or areas that pertain most to attendees’ job functions.
Our 2018 keynote speaker was – Bill Bibby – Cemeteries Director for the City of Charlotte; with other informative and engaging sessions presented by:
- Robin Simonton – Oakwood Historic Cemetery Executive Director
- Michella Huff – Landscaping/Cemetery Manager – City of Mount Airy Parks and Recreation
- Eric Wilson – GIS Application Developer – KCI — Raleigh Mt. Hope Cemetery Project
